We can almost taste the change in seasons here in Kalgoorlie Boulder. Spring is around the corner and it's one of our favourite seasons in the Goldfields. Warm days and blue skies are perfect for exploring. We compiled a list of our top 10 things to do this Spring to give you some inspiration. Whether you're a local looking to fill a weekend or you're visiting our wonderful twin City; there's something to suit everyone!
The Goldfields wildflower season runs from around August to October every year. Good winter rains see the forests and shrubs burst into colour at this time of year, where you can witness a striking array of native flowers; bright orange grevillea, Sturt's Desert Pea, purple mulla mulla, yellow cassia, flowering eucalypts and mallees, and breath-taking displays of wildflowers including pink, yellow and white everlastings, and dainty paper daisies. Our region is also one of the few in Western Australia where the distinctive aromatic sandalwood tree can be found. Maps and wildflower booklets are available from us here at Kalgoorlie Boulder Visitor Centre during Wildflower Season.

Amongst over perks, this also means we have a 24 hours free stopping zone in the City. If you want some camping inspiration, pick up a Golden Quest Discovery Trail book from the Visitor Centre. We personally love setting up camp at Niagara Dam, Lake Ballard and Burra Rocks!
3. Lake BallardWhilst Lake Ballard is beautiful and unique year-round, we think the conditions in Spring are just perfect.
