A small commentative museum for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of WA is located in the Kalgoorlie Town Hall, as part of the Kalgoorlie Boulder Visitor Centre.
The Eastern Goldfields Section of the Royal Flying Doctor Service first opened its Kalgoorlie base in 1937, these days the RFDS Kalgoorlie base is one of 5 in Western Australia and works to provide the finest patient care to the furthest corners of WA.
Due to the global pandemic, the Kalgoorlie RFDS base no longer provides guided tours and our visitor centre remains closed to the public. Visitors are welcome though to attend the grounds to potentially catch a glimpse at one of our working aircraft or to enjoy a family picnic utilising the free BBQ facilities available.

Description
The Flying Doctor in WA serves an area of 2.5 million square kilometres, the largest and most isolated health jurisdiction in the world. For those who live, work and travel in regional Western Australia, the Flying Doctor can mean the difference between life and death.
Every single day, an average of 26 people in WA depend on the RFDS to bring help closer. To the furthest corners of WA and everywhere in between, we are there to help a mate in their moment of need.
