Western Australia’s only Horse Racing Museum awaits you!

Established in 2005, this one of a kind exhibition dates back to the first Goldfields race meeting held in 1896 and features one of two of Australia’s Chronographs installed on the Kalgoorlie course in 1903. The other is placed at Flemington and is described as the famous clock tower in many historical race calls.

For just a gold coin donation you can take a step back and embrace the early 1900’s by viewing the many items in the Museum including an impressive collection of old race books, enclosure passes, licenses and entry tickets, hand written committee minutes and much more.

Description

Stroll around the Museum and each display cabinet reaches back in time, whether it is the great collection of old race books, enclosure passes, licenses and entrance tickets from the early 1900s, the various medical and first aid implements used in those early times or the meticulously kept, hand written Committee Minutes, accounting ledgers, Clerk of Scales registers and many other treasures.

The walls are also lined with magnificent photographs of the champions and crowds of that early Goldfields period.
