Kalgoorlie Cup Day is the biggest social race day on the Goldfields calendar. Expect racing, fashion, food, entertainment, live music and the unmistakable atmosphere of a regional race day done properly, with the best views of the track.

Hot Dub Time Machine

Stay on after the last race and enjoy a free live performance by Hot Dub Time Machine, the World's First Time Travelling DJ and a global festival favourite. Playing from 6pm to 8pm on Kalgoorlie Cup Day, it's the perfect way to celebrate one of WA's most iconic racing events.

Signpost Racing Museum

While at the track, visitors can explore the Signpost Racing Museum, which celebrates the rich racing history of the Goldfields. It features racing memorabilia and stories from Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s long connection with horse racing.

Race Round History

Horse racing has been part of Kalgoorlie-Boulder since the gold rush era, with racing at the Kalgoorlie track dating back to 1896. Race Round has grown into one of the city’s signature annual events, bringing together visitors, locals, racing identities and the wider Goldfields community.

Prize Money & Feature Races

The Kalgoorlie Cup is a prestigious Listed race over 2300 metres, with a prize pool of $150,000. In 2026, Kalgoorlie Cup Day also features the Golden Saddle, a $1,000,000 slot race over 1200 metres, making it one of regional Australia’s richest provincial race days.
