William Grundt Memorial Library


The William Grundt Memorial Library was officially opened in August 1975, and currently provides a variety of services and programs to over 11,000 members (Feb, 2011). There are over 50,000 items in stock at the library including books, DVDs, CDs and other items.



Programs at the library are tailored to suit a range of age groups. Programs for children include Better Beginnings, Storytime and school holiday activities. Young adults are catered for with Fabulous Friday held on the first Friday of every month, and also the Red Dirt Readers book club. The current library facility has a Flexible Learning Room which is home to 20 computers. There is a designated children's area, young adult area with lounges, daily newspapers, and comfortable reading areas. The Sensory Garden in the courtyard is also a lovely area to sit and read.



The library is open 7 days a week to cater for the whole community, and the opening hours are as follows:
Monday & Wednesday 9:30am - 5:30 pm
Tuesday & Thursday 9:30 am - 8:00pm
Friday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 9:00am - 12noon
Sunday 2:00pm - 5:00pm



Internet access is available, and costs $5 for half an hour or $8 for a full hour.
